Have you ever felt like giving up? I know I sure did when I was doing a weight loss contest a couple months ago. It was the last week. I followed the program perfectly up until the point that my husband came home with my fav wine and vegan cookies! I tried to resist then when he was eating them in front of me I gave in.

I felt guilty that evening before I went to bed and when I woke up in the morning felt even more guilty to the point that I started crying. Seriously, I was sobbing because I was like I was so close and now I’m not going to win the weight loss contest! I get out of bed and weigh myself. It was dark so I held my iPhone over the scale to see what terrible number popped up. Yikes, 6 lbs higher from my last weigh in.
So woke up my husband and tried to blame him for making me lose my weight loss contest, but then in that moment I had to take responsibility that I was the one that made the choice to have wine and vegan cookies. Then to make me stop crying he asked, “who are you”? Then held up 3 fingers for “winner”. I cracked a little smile and over the next week whenever I was worried about my weight or he could tell I was getting stressed he held up 3 fingers and asked “who are you”.
I tell you this story because your weight will go up and down especially if you have many food allergies like me. Jump back on your program and be resilient. Don’t wait till Monday, start during your next meal. If you are really committed to winning your weight loss contest, you’ve got to be resilient.
